Stack a mixture of baskets along side a dresser or cabinet for lots of texture. Mix up the colors and sizes of the baskets for a dramatic eye catching statement.

Creating a cottage core oasis can be done with a few simple add-on's to you're décor. The major goal is to make your space feel cozy and inviting, along with having that classic, cottage look. If you already have vintage country, farmhouse, or French country style décor, it will be much more easier to transform your area into a cottage core dreamland. Follow these tips and tell me some of your ideas you use.

Add lots of greenery to your space

This can be anything from artificial ivy vines to dried lavender bunches. Again you don't have to break your the bank. Dollar stores and big box craft stores have tons of varieties of artificial flowers to chose from. If you are lucky, some wildflowers grow right in your own backyard or neighborhood. Don't be afraid to use those annoying weeds. They can pack a punch when it comes to fullness and color. Plants and flowers will brighten up the room immensely.

Rustic Vases and Flower Pots

Use vases or containers with a rustic look to fill with fresh flowers. The older looking the better. If you have newer looking pots, you can always use sandpaper to rough up the paint job. If you do not own any vases or pots, I find that most dollar stores and thrift stores will have a variety of sizes and colors.

    Patchwork Quilt and Floral Throws

One of my absolute favorite tips for making a comfy space is using patchwork quilts and floral throws. These help to create a sense of softness in your home and always feel inviting. Using a floral throw or patchwork duvet can instantly give any room that cozy, country farmhouse vibe. More importantly, pairing floral designs with the first 2 tips from above will create a cohesive design for your space.

Wicker and Water Hyacinth Baskets

Baskets, baskets, and more baskets! Small ones, large ones, all sizes are welcome. Wicker baskets can be a great way to organize while creating the cottage core look you want. Placing a large basket on top the fridge can be a convenient way for you to store your table linens or miscellaneous items. Placing a round basket in the living room will keep your floral throws, pillows and blankets at reach. Wall baskets are beautiful baskets when loaded with lush flowers. I can't decide if I want to try using faux, dried, or fresh flowers. Have fun with these! Mix and match baskets to your heart's content.

 Wide Mouth Glass Jars

Go on the hunt for some glass jars. Wide mouth Mason jars are available to purchase at thrift shops and Amazon. If you want to save some money, reuse your old jam and pasta sauce jars. In addition, these jars fit just about anywhere! On the mantle, your kitchen countertops, and even inside of bookshelves, glass jars can fill any empty nook and cranny. The possibilities are endless! Perfect for putting flowers, tea lights, or old wine corks in, antique glass can add such a simple yet effective addition in making a room feel more cottage like. For a more magical vibe, you can stuff the jars with some twinkling fairy lights too! I also wrap twine or jute around the rims for that extra handmade touch.
